Lake District meet, Wasdale

Scafell Pike and Scafell

22-24 March 2024 at the FRCC’s hut Brackenclose, recently reopened after a fire in 2019. The hut is situated at the head of the Wasdale valley right in the heart of the highest Lakeland mountains. Wasdale was the birthplace of English mountaineering, a tradition even older than the YRC itself. The Scafells and the Gables are a short walk away as is the village for a Friday evening meal or a pint.

We have 14 places booked but there is room for 5 tents as well. Hut and camping fees are £14 per night. Richard Josephy is catering and will be providing continental breakfasts and a Saturday evening meal.

  1. Hi Trudi, If you let me know which station (Skipton?) and likely times, I’ll ask for you.
