Club History

Formed on 6th October 1892, the YRC was at the forefront of early cave and mountain exploration.

Club Ojectives

"The objects of the Club are to organise walking, mountaineering and skiing excursions, to encourage the exploration of Caves and Potholes and to gather and promote knowledge concerning Natural History, Archaeology, and Folklore and kindred subjects."

How to Join

The Club welcomes application for membership from any person showing interest in the following Club objectives and who can demonstrate, to the Club Committee, their eligibility for membership.

The YRC has traditionally been an all-male club. However, following a recent ballot of members, it has been decided that we would welcome applications from both men and women, and that this should take immediate effect.
